Good food and wine are undoubtedly amongst the most dominant emotions making us choose our holiday destination …
There is no place in Italy where wine and food are not an integral part of local traditions. Also the Lombardy region, renowned for producing high quality wines, promotes wine-tasting and delicious culinary treats. Discerning diners and lovers of good food will find three quite separate traditional cuisines, each one with a distinct appeal: the lake cuisine (based on fish) the traditional valley (based on polenta - cornmeal mush) and that of the Brianza county (meat dishes). Como offers interesting tasting-experiences in its typical taverns, traditionally named “Crotti”, where you can enjoy a meal with the tasty side-dish of "polenta uncia"
